I made this top for a white fluffy skirt that was meant to be our engagement dress, (for some parts of it I used scraps of a curtain) unfortunately combination of the the top and bottom together turned out pretty disastrous. Meanwhile I am trying to figure out what to do with the bottom, I decided to wear the top out. I wore this top for the first time yesterday during our photoshoot and we took these pictures while waiting on the team to arrive. It was pretty comfortable, I specially love the straight neckline that gives such a simple design element. 

I have always wanted to own a linen dress, and finally I was able to create one for myself! I used 1 1/2 yard of a fabric that I believe came down to $16 for this dress. It has a stiffer body to it than a dress I originally had in mind. Because of its weight I decided to use a very simple and easy pattern, and somehow it turned into a dress for a Star Wars character, which I love it so much! 

This summer I got obsessed over nude swimsuit thanks to Pinterest! After much browsing on the net I somehow ended up ordering a yard of a Lycra spandex fabric off amazon for $8.99 and the same day it arrived somehow I got inspired and made this swimsuit in the span of 3 hours, right on time for our Florida trip. I used one of my favorite sport bra and swimsuit bottom as pattern and it turned out without a doubt nothing short of amazing. The fabric was so easy to work with, I used one yard for both the bottom and top and double lined all the pieces and to be honest I have never felt so comfortable in a swimsuit.

This weekend was my boyfriend's nieces birthday, since she likes unicorns . . 
I decided to make her a stuffed Unicorn Plush. My inspiration was the two images below that I found on Pinterest. 

I had to make due with the fabrics I had, but I have to say it was so much fun creating this little Unicorn

I have had the least luck when it comes to sewing machines, in part I blame this on how slow my sewing projects come to life or some to never see the light of a day at all! Over the years I may have touched about 3 all of which to my dismay died pretty much the same fashion that had to do something with the bobbin (excuse my lack of technician vocabulary) so after many hours of contemplation I came to realize maybe it's the projects I am working on that requires more heavy duty equipment . . I bought this sewing machine in the hope of having a better experience creating my projects :) 

Here are some of the new stitches I learned from the free class that came with the purchase:

Hump Jumper - used for Jeans 
Over Cast stitch- when you have two fabrics
Bling Ham Stick - to create a near to invisible stitch 
Button Hole - must put (interfacing fabric) in side the fabrics

I have recently been loving chokers . . . 
For the entire wedding season I found myself wearing my 3 different sizes of black velvet chokers! I found that not only they are such a minimalistic accent matching most of my outfits, also there is no dangling danger of regular necklaces working close with the clients. As I was getting tired of my collection of velvet chokers I decided to venture out into more creative ideas and I am loving what I came up with . . . totally planning to make more in the future!
