There is no boredom with photography where you can use varieties of prims to manipulate the light - I recently purchased a triangular 6inch prism to play around in my photography. I tried to share a before and after to see the difference, I placed the prims on the let side of the photo.
For months I have been sitting on many edited sets contemplating on what direction should I operate from? How to present my work on social media? I've tried multiple pathways, studied marketing and not a single one of them worked! Under the shadow of this new world it's suffice to say I had to find my deeper level purpose to create given close to none motivation coming from outside. I had to tab deeper to find my reason to share my work even if no one is cared to look at it! I found my purpose at this given time is to refine my gifts since my form of meditation and connecting to my soul's higher purpose is to create. In the chaos that is the outside world I found peace by accepting and loving the life as is and once again I am ready to move forward. This time with zero plans, just one step in front of another floating to where it takes me, while embracing my vulnerability and acknowledging my hear's desire to be heard and seen. I'm moving forward because moving forward is the only way that can change the situation. Therefore, if there comes an opportunity to share my gift and create for a client I will and if there isn't I will continue with self portrait telling my story visually with frames of film that is my visual poetry. It has been about 4 years since the last time I visited the Austin Botanical Garden, I spent a summer volunterring at the rose garden and absolutely loved the experience. Not much has changed since then and the garden is just as beautiful as I remembered it to be. These days I am actively trying to practice videography so every chance I get I set up the camera for a quick clip! That day I didn't have a tripod with me so I tried to be as creative as I could with propping the camera against the wall or on my bag for shots. After that we grabbed a drink at Codependent a stylish lounge that serve cocktail and coffee, located at West Downtown Austin, at Market District. This place is one of my favorites at the moment, with all the changes that has been happening in Austin I am so used to my favorite places closing down and changing owners, but I am really praying this one stays open for a while.
I had the opportunity to help with filming a video commercial today for a headset commerical, we shot the session in this beautiful studio in north Austin (instagram @austinphotostudio). The theme was young professional female using the headshot for listening to music and talking to her friend Lisa, our wonderful Model Sarah has been so wonderful to work with, she is incredibly professional and such great personality. We finished this shoot in one hour, thanks to how organized Connor the main videographer is, he is absolutely brilliant! These beautiful photos were taken by Josh, I love them so much he also took photos during the session that I am sure turned out beautiful. I was the second videographer and I shot all the tight shots with my 85mm lens, I can't wait to see the final result.
One of the weekends in fall we will be coming to this farm in New Braunfels for a wedding photography. I prefer to visit the wedding venue locations and meet with the couple ahead of time and get to know them in person. I find this process helps us both in preparation to bring their vision to life.
I absolutely love these photos Josh took of me on his Fuji camera today
I massively miss my Fuji camera the colors are out of this world! Since we have decided to move our Honeymoon to later this year, we spent couple days after our wedding to resting and going about town eating, snacking on all of our favorite food basically making up for all the busy weekends before preparing for the wedding! Josh bought us a kiddy pool and we have been enjoying soaking our tired leg/back muscles in the cold water in the evenings, it definitely helped with releasing the muscle tension!
August 21 2021 after two reschedules due to the pandemic, finally on the 3rd try Josh and I were finally able to celebrate our wedding day in my dream venue Star Hill Ranch in Bee Cave area of Austin, Texas surrounded by people we loved. Shout out to our amazing wedding planner company Social Essential that designed and planned the entire event and super talented photographer Jovana Ivic for working till the moment we left the venue!
Many thanks to our family and friend who drove and flew to attend the wedding and for sending us best wishes and capturing these beautiful iPhone photos of us that I will cherish forever! The black/white photos are from Josh's film camera. I had the opportunity to film another interview with a clothing Boutique with Sarah a wonderful local Realtor here in Austin, Texas. This is from a series she is recording to connect more with the community and meet business owners serving the city which I find very valuable as well. Since this was only the second interview I have ever filmed, I have a long way to learn the robes. One of the key lessons I learned from this session was to prepare the bullet point of the topics/question ahead of time, and as we film check the topics being discussed off the list. we obviously went the opposite way and spent much longer time than expected recording to the point one of the lights set ran out of battery so towards you can notice the frames are much darker than the beginning ha! Next time I film an interview let it be known that if there is a mess up please DO NOT start from the top, just go back to the beginning of the last question and repeat until everyone is satisfied with the answer and then move on to the next question/topic! There is absolutely no reason to do a own take on an interview! We visited Houston Art Museum over the last month and I tried to take some photos on my iPhone App NOMOCAM that way I didn't have to bother with editing my personal photos on top of all the client work I have to edit. |
